Picking up hunt packs at ‘Galérie S’, Part 1 of this Marais treasure trail departs from the Galérie (96 rue bis Beaubourg) and has teams start off with a French Alice in Wonderland who sets you off on a magical adventure after the White Rabbit, stopping off to spin some gold at alchemist Nicolas Flamel’s house (only the oldest stone house in Paris, from 1407!). Lots of history, lots of light-hearted silliness (like enacting Paris’s coat of arms, Pompidou Prancing, Seranading like Cyrano de Bergerac, that big nosed Frog) this part-1 Marais hunt ends at a chess table in a secret garden.

Teams are tasked with writing out the answers for what they’ve found, in addition to putting down the pencil and picking up a camera to complete fun photo-based challenges. Other bonus questions could ask you to replicate artsy photos like the one of the Pompidou shown above!

Team size is flexible: from individuals looking for a fresh look at the City of Light, to large groups who want to create a party, dividing themselves into teams of 2 to 5 people each. A typical family of four will split into two teams, with 1 parents & 1 kid per team, vying for their Marais glory! Team packs are paper-based & include a pencil, the hunt, & stapled answer sheet & emergency map (but careful, open the map and you’ll be penalized points!).

In terms of time, if walked directly, the route should last about 10 minutes, however the hunt isn’t direct, of course! Ending in a secret garden, the hunt should last about an hour. Toddle on over to the Galérie S, where your adventure awaits!

For those who are hooked, you can buy a second THATMuse Marais hunt (Part 2) which picks up at the Pompidou & ends at Place des Vosges for an additional 90 minute hunt. Please note, THATMuse Marais Part 2 can only be done after participating in Part 1 (This Part 2, sold separately, is entirely optional).
